03.03.2010: UNHRD Panama respond to Chile emergency:

The first emergency operation departed from Panama’s depot upon request of PHAO in support to Chile emergency. The cargo composed of two 50KVA Generators has been airlifted to Santiago, Chile in response of the 8.8 magnitude earthquake.  Emergency ad-hoc inter-agency meeting on earthquake in Chile has been hosted in HRD premises while staff member Lucien Jaggi  has been deployed to Chile in assistance to the Immediate Response Emergency Operation (IR-EMOP). A REDLAC meeting took place on together with emergency ad-hoc inter-agency meeting on earthquake in Chile  where focus was clearly directed at agencies’ plans and requirements in response to the Chile earthquake.
